If you've been in the studio, you've met Bertha. She has had a prominent place in our "Prep Room" where our lingerie, shoes and props are located. Some people love her and others only like her but I have a HUGE sentimental attachment to her. Let me tell you her story.
When I was in college, I had a best friend named Jessica (we still talk and she loves Bertha's new home). We were art majors so we spent A LOT of hours together, in class, out of class, in the studio, at concerts, drinking like college kids… We were always together. For her senior project, she painted a series of women in different sizes combating the body standards that society has currently set for women. Bertha immediately spoke to me and I had to have her. I purchased her through Jessica's senior show and she has been a part of my life for 12 years now. Little did I know at the time that I would be combating that exact same thing through boudoir, striving every day to show women that they are beautiful no matter what society says. Bertha finally got hung up in a place of honor this week in a role that she has always deserved. Give a round of applause to Bertha!
